This year's highlight was the music and a beautiful quilt made from previous year's Truckin' t-shirts by Claudia Beaty. It is gorgeous and was hung up for all to see. Twang Chung played an excellent set...highlighted by Dan Lund playing Further on up the Road, theme song for TWA '08. Then John M, Adam T & Paul D played some superb songs including I Know You Rider and Here Comes the Sun. And of course, no TWA with would be complete without The White Iron Band. This year the WIB boys were at their rockin' best, playing Truckin', Ripple, & including our friend Adam T & other special guests. It was great fun...enough to get us all up dancin'. Thanks guys. Attendance was down slightly this year, but no problem...250 still passed thru & everyone had a great time. Over $2000 was raised for the Adam VH memorial fund...used to provide college scholarships, & fund other worthy causes. Check out pictures from the concert in the Photo Gallery. And help us celebrate Truckin' by submitting your photos wearing Truckin' shirts in cool places. We want more! There are still a few Large & XL t-shirts left. Holler if you're interested...they're a great design. Thanks Nic!! Thanks to all those who contribute to TWA thru donations and your support of the event. What a fitting way for us to gather and commemorate Adam every summer. He loved hanging with his friends and listening to excellent music...and that's exactly what Truckin' is. We really enjoy the celebration and hope you'll keep coming and supporting it. See you all again. Still Truckin' Gene 2 June 15, 2008 - 08:24 PM Gene from Minnesota   Happy 2008 everyody! Truckin' with Adam 08 is only 2 weeks away. Can you believe it's been 8 years? ..and TWA just keeps getting better & better. We've got great vibes about this year's event. White Iron Band just put out their 4th album, Devil's Sweet Revenge , & they sound better than ever. This year special thanks to Nic Titze, the mastermind behind our t-shirt designs & web site. No question that Truckin' would never have enjoyed it's amazing success without Nic. ..and this year Nic has put out the best t-shirt design yet. Thy're selling like hot cakes so buy your's early! Congratulations to Nic & Jill on the June 14 wedding. They're in Jamaica on their honeymoon right now- we wish them the very best. Hope to see you all at the Narrows on June 29 for TWA '08, the best annual Minnetonka reunion and celebration of Adam's life we could ever imagine. Keep Truckin'! 3 July 01, 2007 - 01:31 PM Gene from Minnesota   Ryan, every year we ask that question & the answer is always- YES. The music just keeps getting better & everyone keeps coming back & having a good time. Seven years now-unbelievable- the Narrows was packed wall-wall for several hours. It's become such a great reunion. Words can't express our gratitude to everyone who attends Truckin' & supports our cause: celebrating Adam's life thu a non-profit that does great things for our community & humanity overall. This year we raised the most ever- over $4000- and a nice chunk will go to a Minnetonka soccer player fighting cancer, as well as many other great causes. Special thanks to our friends & family who traveled long distance to attend this year: Don & Kathy from Wichita, Jason from New Jersey, Ryan, Natalie & the Mudhens from Calif, Joe Z from KC, Nick, Jill & John M from Chicago & many many others. You guys are the greatest. And special-special thanks to all the musicians that rock this event & bring everyone out! There's no doubt that Adam was right there with us last Sunday- he loved hanging with his friends & listening to excellent music...and that's exactly what Truckin' is. Thanks to all for helping us turn this tragedy into something so good. It's what life is all about. Besides the fact that John and I did not practice and subsequently forgot both chords and lyrics to almost every song we played, I had a great time. So good to see you all and to get together again at such a wonderful gathering in the name of a dear friend. I want to thank Gene, Becky, Emily and Nick for making that recurring weekend in June so beautiful. Once again, amazingly well done. Thanks to all of you who make this memorial what it is. I know Adam was / is smiling proudly at what his friends and family created in his honor. Such a glorious festival.... Well another Truckin show is upon us and as always I will be back in town to throw back a few pops with you all and to raise a glass to a dear friend who departed us too early but remains unchanging in our hearts and our minds.
